Community Center Updates Wednesday 11 April 2018

During the month of March 2018, Tabitha conducted four main activities as part of its community center approach.  The first one was related to psychosocial activities that included community based activities that are taking place at the community center and through outreach activity and targeting 42 Syrian children and 10 Syrian women. The activities are tackling topics such as hygiene, identity, art, key messages on coping mechanisms, self-care, etc.

Further to that, Tabitha conducted GBV awareness sessions to 34 Syrian women on child marriage, women’s rights, domestic violence, etc.


The third and fourth activities that Tabitha worked on during this month were related to the celebrations of two international days. On March 9, 2018, Tabitha and 31 Syrian women celebrated the International Women’s Day through a set of activities related to awareness sessions on healthy nutrition, self-care tips, multitasking in addition to recreational activities and games to help in channeling some key messages.

From another side, on March 20, 2018, Tabitha and in coordination with the National Wellness Network a mental health department at MUBS University in Aley celebrated with 50 Syrian Children the International Child’s day. The children spent a day at MUBS, participated in the Cine Club and received healthy snacks and nutritional and visual assessment.
