Syria Joint Response Tuesday 15 May 2018

Nine development and relief organizations from the Netherlands, including Dorcas Aid International, have joined forces in the Syria Joint Response program to help the victims of the conflict in Syria. More than 300,000 people were reached under the Syria Joint Response since it has launched early 2015.  The Dutch minister of Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation approved a combined project proposal focusing on shelter, food, shelter, WASH, protection, education and health.

Dorcas Relief and Development in Syria is providing support to almost 50,000 internally displaced persons through the provision of food vouchers and parcels, protection center, support to two primary healthcare centers and one hospitainer, providing protection workshops for staff partners, market assessment and livelihoods activities in Aleppo. In addition to providing food vouchers, protection training, support to two primary healthcare centers and community center activities to the most vulnerable communities in Rural Damascus.

In April 2018, Dorcas Relief and Development in Syria provided food vouchers to 720 households residing in Aleppo. Additionally, through the community center in Aleppo, Dorcas was able to provide 110 children between 7 and 13 years old with PSS activities.
