Aley Community Center – January 2019 updates Saturday 16 February 2019

During the month of January 2019, Lebanon has faced a severe weather that was not seen for years. Vulnerable host community members and Syrian refugees were trapped for days due to the heavy rain and severe cold. Flooding and soil erosion due to the rain has affected many refugee sites.

To respond effectively to this crisis, Tabitha Relief and Development coordinated closely with the Municipality of Aley in order to identify the affected communities and provide them with the needed assistance. Tabitha Community Center Staff conducted home visits to vulnerable households in order to assess their situation and identify potential solutions. Until date, Tabitha was able to provide 29 Syrian and Lebanese families with cash assistance to help them cope and survive this difficult period.
